Thanks guys. Upon closer inspection the stud appears to be sheared off, and both terminals tightened up. I believe it's probably an old one that was broken and got dropped into the battery tray

Does the stock ZHP exhaust come with secondary cats? I remember reading that later model E46s had them, at least in the US. Not sure if that applies to the ZHP as well.
Also is the ZHP muffler any different from the regular muffler?
No, there's only one pair of cats (one for each bank). As far as I know, this is the case for all E46's in the US.
You may be thinking of resonators.
Yes. The regular E46 330's have a flap in the exhaust valve that opened up on higher demand to produce more noise. The ZHP mufflers don't have the flap so it's always "open" per se.Quote:

M56/sulev have secondary cats, not zhp
Thanks for clearing that up :like
Does anyone know of a company that makes BMW Motorsport roundels for the hood/trunk on the sedan?
I want to get some. I know some people have opinions that it’s cheesy to add these but I like the look of them
I think they look cool!

are the hood/trunk emblems 82mm?
Thanks Charlie
I have a misfire on Cylinder 2, suspecting the coil because none of them have ever been replaced. Should I get the Bosch or Delphi ones from FCP? Quick googling suggests both are horrible...
Apparently the problem aren't the original Boschs, but rather the new updated design that causes problems:

I've found similar comments to this, though I'm not sure how much weight I should put on them.
It's very rare that I buy used parts for my car but maybe you could buy a used OE coil as well if you can find a guy selling them cheap enough. Mine were only $10 CAD a pop, can't really go wrong for that price even if it happens to conk out a couple years down the line
Might be the best bet, gotta verify first though if that's the problem. Luckily there's a ZHP owner nearby who said I could borrow his coil to test if that is actually the problem. I might still go with new Delphi ones and just invoke that FCP warranty whenever necessary.
Lol I just ordered the Bosch one from FCP and they immediately sent me this:

Bro cancel that order Bosch is hot garbage
You can test yourself by moving the coil to a different cylinder and seeing if the misfire follows it
Fwiw I dug deep into coil options a bit ago and decided to pony up for the Eldor ones that everyone seems to love for every engine

Interesting. I actually found the Eldors on FCP, though for some reason they're labeled as only being for these vehicles: 760i, 760Li, Cooper, M3, X5, Z4

I figured I'd check since I needed a set but really wanted to buy from there. Thankfully they do carry it, or at least the part number that Pizzaman has posted with that eBay link.
Hmm...that explains why when I replaced JRs coils awhile back, it didn't snap. I was like that's weird, how do I know it's in? Just pushed it all the way down as much as I could and that was it. Hopefully, it doesn't misfire down the road. It's working fine now and cured his misfires.
So do the Eldor coils snap into place like the originals?
When I was deep in the bowels of the internet looking at Eldor reviews I found someone saying that BMW was making the switch to them for every model, but slowly rolling it out to earlier models as they ramped up production to keep up. They started with the newer forced induction models and have been expanding from there, so you'll see some sites list them for nearly every model and some, well, I don't know what FCP is doing.
I bought a set of Eldor coils from fcpeuro and they work with no issues.

I noticed the eBay page you posted had the same compatibilities listed for the other models. But it's good to know that it is indeed the right set. I'm surprised they would take a phased approach to this; that doesn't seem like something they would do.

Aftermarket pedal covers: Anyone know some good sources for aftermarket metal pedal covers? I'll need new ones as I'm converting from auto to manual, and I'd like some good pedal covers for all 3, plus the footrest.
This is what I have in the ZHP. I love the set.
I did make the mistake of buying mine in black though, so it's wearing the color off. To be fair, I did drive the ZHP a metric asston of miles since I purchased them, so it's not quite indicative of normal use. But the quality of the product is excellent.

This is what I have. I have black ones. Been awhile so those little stud things are starting to wear down. I helped them test their design for their pedals and their clutch stop was based off mines. I do have a custom extension for the accelerator pedal though for easier heel toe for street driving. They are local to us. Located near EAS. My only complaint is when those stud things wear down, the wet grip isn't as good. I'll probably buy another one though.

I'm running some ACS reps and love the look.

You can get them on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/37338547728...kAAOSwgrBdtxUR
I prefer the Rennline pedal set. They are excellent quality but you will pay for them. I have this set for my Porsche and Audi and plan to retrofit them into my M3 and ZHP...

As for the dead pedal, I would stay with the ///M dead pedal :thumbsup
