I should just get a set then. If they last 2 sets of pads I would be content.
Any more available?

Ive been back and forth on purchasing these as well, mainly because my brakes all around were done just prior to my purchase. Getting a set may not be a bad idea though
Is there a tolerance on the rotor for minimum thickness? Or do people not even resurface these rotors. ?
BMW rotors aren't supposed to be 'cut'.
The minimum thickness on the rotor allows for one more set of pads to be used with it. So, if you wear out your first set of pads, and the rotor thickness is above the minimum (even if by just a little), it's good to go for one more set of pads, according to my BMW tech friend.
Hmm that's interesting
Yea I know that's what they say, we told the tech to just take off the minimum, been driving on them for years now no brake fade, warping or stress cracks. No one cuts flywheels anymore and that was standard procedure back in the day...Normally if they were cheap rotors, I'd just replace them but I wanted to get a little more mileage out of these
well, I'm trying to find a BMWP BBK that someone is willing to sell used.......currently on the hook with a guy possibly willing to do so. so yes..........i would buy a set for the BBK that would ***hopefully*** eventually make its way onto the car at some point.
Yup
Well that's depressing...they feel good on Kristen's 135.
When you say they don't hold up on track use, are you talking about the melting pistons?
Well I'm not tracking my car. Want the extra grip and looks.
Pistons AND seals. I went through three sets of seals despite having stainless steel pistons in there (thanks Chad!), and one of those sets was classified as "high temp" seals. The feel is good, and is a nice upgrade from the stock caliper feel, but the feel just doesn't compare to the Willies. For street only applications, they're fine, though not having an easy way to match up a pair of rears is a bit disappointing.
If I had to do it again, I'd spend the money on the Wilwoods, especially considering the cost.
Oh wait, I did... :shifty
For those who won't mind dealing with the hassle of changing out brake pads and aren't tracking their cars, this is a very nice upgrade as I can attest to :thumbsup
You want this upgrade then ;)
Actually this is not too hard as I found out... I just need to get around to doing this but from what I have learned, all you need is a set of OEM M3 rear rotors (I will be sourcing Performance cross drilled M3 rotors), new longer steel braided brake lines for the rears, and a set of Performance rear 135i brake calipers. If it wasn't for the 15" MacBook Pro with Retina display I just acquired (picking it up today), I would have finished this project for my ZHP this summer.... always something that comes up called life ;) Eventually I will finish the Performance BBK setup for my ZHP now that I know exactly what I need to do to make this happen :thumbsup
For those who are only street driving their cars, the BMW Performance BBK is a good (and cheaper) path towards legitimate BBK applications. Stressing street use Botond. Even with a little "spirited" driving, these brakes do a great job :thumbsup I only wish this kit came with rear caliper application as well instead of people having to figure out how to make this happen. Fortunately for the E46 community there are some who had the time and ability to figure this out and then post their findings....my most sincere thanks go out to these guys/gals for taking the time do do so. Without people like them, there would not be any solution or DIYs out here...
Don't forget all the cutting that has to get done to the dust shields, as well as the fact that there will be no rotor screws retaining the M3 rotor whatsoever (not a big deal). The cutting is a fair bit of work though for someone like myself since all I had was a dremel.
Yea all this made me nix my plans on using BMW performance kit...Not that it's a bad thing. If I didn't have big future plans for my car, I would of gone this route...
I'm going with the BBK front and I painted my stock rears Phoenix Yellow.
Sure, anytime.
So yeah do any of you guys want a pair of these rotors or what?

i was wondering if you could still get a set of rears. And if so, how much for a full set of front and rears shipped to Michigan?
What would be the best set of brake pads to match these for a daily driver.
Thanks!

Hi Tippey
i would be intrested in a piar front and also if you can get me the rear?
thanks
would Ceramic Brake pads work well with them?
or what do you guys suggest?
thanks
Bump, Replied via PM
Bump and to answer anyones question, No i can't get the rears. The rears aren't even special though so I wouldn't waste my money on them.
