What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

Haven't posted in a while, but here are some things I've done since then.
- reconditioned my ABC pillar fabric
- sprayed by grill and 330ci badge with plastidip, followed by gloss coat (love the new look)
- a little touch-up work (looks like crap, but better than before)
- restored headlights and replaced brittle rubber things that clip in on top of the head light.
- about to recondition my patchy center console with plastidip and route my aux to the underside of the armrest. Will look into also wiring a cigarette lighter into that area as well, to keep everything nice and clean.

Nice! I have to do something about my center console as well... it's really showing its age

I'll definitely post how the plastidip turns out. People say it attracts dust, but so does the original stuff.

PD will become less grippy (less rubbery) for dust as it ages, but you’ll want to be very careful when you clean the dust off. A paper towel will leave lint behind, but something like a microfiber has the potential of grabbing and tearing the PD. Something like a detailer’s brush would do nicely.

good to know. Actually I noticed that with my grille. It was super tacky to the touch at first, and after a month it has become much smoothers

Exactly. The grilles on my X3 have been PD’d for close to 5 years at this point and I can pretty aggressively scrub the bugs off without any concern.

I used hot water and a scotch brite sponge to scrub the rubberized coating off of my center console then sprayed some 303 Aerospace protectant on it to soak in a bit. Looks like brand new plastic now, just without the tacky coating.

More and more impressed with the 3.64 differential.

It stopped raining and kids are playing good.

Not just the increased effective torque, you are in the best part of the power band upon shifting. Much much quicker.

I wished it had worked out for me, but MFactory couldn't make it happen. I do love my 3.38, though...

I mean an 18% increase in torque is cool and all, but don't you miss 1st gear? I barely use it with a 3.38.
