    I pulled the coil pack out and noticed it was wet on the tip. Pulled the spark plug out and it was wet with oil and inside the socket when I pulled out the plug was wet with oil. Looked down in the plug tube when the plug was out and there was a little oil pooled on the bottom side. I was told the valve cover gasket was done a month or so before I purchased the car.

    Washed her quickly yesterday as she needed one badly! Caked with pollen and such. Looks much better now. Rained today though so I'm going to do a detail this weekend as I'm going home tomorrow (no friday classes!) so she'll have a fresh coat of sealant and wax!

    I also:
    -switched back to the BMW performance shifting knob from stock to change it up a bit.
    -installed new air filter

    I also went to switch my HID igniter on the driver side that's been intermittent with one Dane gave me to realize that the igniters for AL and ZKW lights are different. I have AL and Dane has ZKW so now I have to find an igniter for an AL headlight.

    Any ideas?

    I have "before" pics from the detail after I removed the paint over spray, but they do not show the hairline scratches and the flatness of the paint. You mention your black, I hate the black on my car, mainly for the reason you mentioned. It's so hard to take care of!

    Yeah.......but only the spark plug well gaskets would need to leak. I think that's what he meant.

    perhaps whomever did it didn't clean the oil out of the sparkplug wells. I can't imagine anyone replacing the outer gasket and then tossing the sparkplug well gaskets....

    Yeah...not saying that either. Simply saying that he may have a leak in one of his spark plug profile gaskets.
