    Dr Vanos rebuild arrived today...

And DISA Gold arrived the other day...

New C-pillars arrived last week. If I can just get the knucklers at RM European to send me the right rear Sachs shocks (they sent standard suspension ones rather than the proper ZHP sku), I can get the beast back in the shop shortly for another round of long-term maintenance.

^Im regretting not doing the vanos rebuild when I did my vcg a few weeks back, don't really wanna go back in there unless I have to. I have no issues with my vanos but I had a little bit of burned oil on top of the vanos which iv been told indicates it's getting a little to hot an that could be the seals going out. Prob no biggie but iv been beating myself up for not doing it

My car is at 53k miles and is running like crap from just under 3k on up, if you goose it. Gradual acceleration is fine. Classic symptoms of either Vanos issues, DISA, possible leaky intake boot(s), or some combination of all 3. I'm not taking any chances - I have the cash at the moment to take care of this stuff, so I'm going balls-deep with my investments in the car's future. I've already done A-pillars, new Pilot Super Sports, Inspection II, new ZHP shift knob, "new" Ebay mirror w/Homelink (and had the day/night function rebuilt), cocomats, full detail with paint correction, yada yada yada. No car payment makes it fairly easy to "invest". I love this motherjumper and I'm going to get her into tip-top shape then take excellent care of her and hang on for a LONG time.

For someone who's looking for it this is a steal.

It was a fantastic day. Lime Rock is not a braking-intensive track, but the pads held up just fine despite the very hot ambient temperatures (around 90 most of the day).

The pads did great at Watkins Glen as well, a much more braking intensive course. I didn't experience any brake fade there, either.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

^ You're gonna love the rebuilt vanos! I have two ZHPs, one with a rebuilt vanos and one without, and below 3.5k, the one without the rebuild feels like a slug since I installed the Dr. Vanos on my coupe!

BimmerWill: Thanks! Every time I give the quote a test and buy something cheap I have to pay for whatever it was twice!

Question: How much interest is there for a DIY on how to make the center armrest stop squeaking/creaking/being obnoxious?

Evey engine I've had the valve cover off has had that oil on top of it, I wouldn't worry about that.
If you get the Dr Vanos kit, It won't take that long... just go for it. At least the valve cover will come off easily

They are the shiznit! Benefits: weigh almost 7 lbs due to very heavy rubber nibbed backing, and without anchors of any kind, do NOT move at ALL. They are super-easy to clean and rarely show dirt anyways. Just pull out and shake. Done. Lastly, the quality is superb and they look fantastic. I've had them in 4 cars now, wouldn't own a car without ordering a set. Pics do them no justice. See available colors and patters (there are many) at cocomats.com.
