    A bird took a dump on my car, and the heat from this massive heatwave literally infused the shit into my headlight. No amount of PlastX or washing was getting it out. I had to buck up $25 for another 3M restoration kit and sand down the headlight really good. Unfortunately, due to the nature of how weirdly shaped our lights are, it didn't go without casualties

    Even though I taped it up really well, I nicked my lower headlight trim really good in a few places. No bueno . Currently looking for a new one in Silvergrey-metallic, but worst-case I repaint it or get some touchup paint.

    Seal your headlights with a good sealant!! Wax, headlight sealant, whatever - just do it! It's a lot easier than restoring them (again).

    Pretty shitty stu. Sealing the headlights is good advise though.

    And all of this could be avoided if BMW didn't switch to non-replaceable headlight covers I will never understand that logic.

    Yeah, as a consumer, I don't get that either.

    If anything, after restoring the headlight lens, you should go to nextlevelride.com and get yourself a headlight lens film. It will prevent things like this from ever happening and will also protect the surface of the lens. It is well worth the small investment to avoid problems like this...

    @Charlie, nice wrap. And thanks for the headlight film tip
    @Seth, glad you finally got that all set, looks good. Nice color on the calipers. I'm with Dane though, it's it just the lighting as it doesn't seem to "match" the roundels? Or, we're you just saying it was closer?
    @Kevin, very cool.
    @Meric, interesting. How easy was it to do?
    @Junior. No. lol

    Just something to think about, but in my last car, I had the headlight haze removed (perfectly) and then clear coated. Once that was done, no problems with hazing. Also, every time I wax the car, I go over the headlights and taillights every time.

    The clear coat could probably be skipped if the extra $$ isn't there, but waxing the lights is an easy way to keep them beautifully crystal.

    All the way up, running like crap.

    Was that flash necessary throughout the ZHP run? Mine's a pretty late car - 7/30/2005 production date.
