How was the boot attached to the new knob?

Installed my lighted ZHP knob from the new F10 M5. Looks great! Had a hard time holding the camera still enough in the dark to get a good pic though. I'll have to try again another day.



I removed the leather boot off the new knob and reused my Alcantara boot.

I tapped into the wiring for the lighting on the left side window switches. I just matched up the wire colors.....grey/red stripe (positive) and brown (ground) from the knob wires and the switch wires and luckily they were still matching colors from the E46 to the F10 wiring harness.

I would have preferred to use the cig lighter light wiring but it looked like the wires might have been cutting it close on length and I wanted to avoid having to add another splice to lengthen the wires an inch or two.

I need to do that sometime. Not really feeling my UUC stainless steel knob anymore.

20mm turner spacers put on rears I place of the 12.5s. Looks much better.

You should have gotten some thicker coats of dip on there. It's a bastard to peel off when it's real thin

Installing new BMW OEM c/f Diffuser, purchased from Stuart. Sold my non-OEM one to Charlie. New 1 in the process of being put on the car, old one one the ground. Very little difference, owing that to the quality of my non-OEM one. EDIT: while they look different colors in the pic, that's just due to lighting, they are the same.
