Looking at the pics it looks like the welds on the flange are TiG instead of the more common MiG. Tig is usually a stronger weld

Intake side was alright, but everything surrounding the housing was covered in oil since the fanblades flung it all over the place.
Really hope it's not the actual housing itself that's cracked.

Oil pan wouldn't make sense since I didn't hit anything today or actually ever.....okay I give up, the housing died on me.
I gave up on the wheels a long time ago. I have nothing to use besides a small towel and a bucket of water....besides, the exterior is equally dirty and it's rain season so it's up to mother nature now hehe

Fear not Rob, you can use your current boot. Just remove it from the new one and you're done! Follow my DIY if you want to retro the perforated knob; I have the same one.

Either the oil filter housing or gasket is broken. If it's the gasket, the replacement's only $8 but if it's the housing.......$300~.
DISA could be involved too, heard some kind of plastic flapping noise whenever I gassed it but no sounds when cruising.

Even at stock height with no springs, coilovers, or anything, it was still too low.

This was my previous E46, also '05, silbergrau. 325Ci.
She spits oil too. I'm starting to think my roundels are or something, I took them off the 325 and put them on the 330 after this happened and look now....one died, causing it to leak oil but this current E46, it didn't die. It just leaked oil randomly. I was driving to school earlier in the morning and everything was completely fine.
Took the POS backup Lexus ES 300 out for the first time in a while to use but the battery was dead. Got a new one at Sam's Club.

Seriously considering fixing then trading/selling for a S2000 or something.
    So sorry man!!!

Or send perforated knob to Jupiter.. Sorry, you should all know I would most likely sell body parts for one.

In other news, after giving my car a bath, she repays me with some funky no-start thing.. When I turn the key to start position, nothing... If I hold it there, it eventually starts... No cranking, just silence and then all of a sudden, starter engages and she fires right up. Instead of waiting, if I turn key off, and go for second start again, she fires right up, no delay...

    Anyone?

Looks good. Any rubbing yet? Wish I knew you were wanting 20mm spacers, I have a set I've been trying to off for awhile now.

Looking good. Can't really tell a difference though. And who's that sexy guy reflected in your bumper?!

LOL Ryan. You really CAN'T tell the difference. Up close, yes, but I'm really happy with the quality of the non-OEM one. I was kinda surprised at that. Gives me hope for those c/f euro-splitters that I'm going to order.

@JKO, so sorry about your car. Hopefully it's not a big fix, and definitely get rid of those Roundels, new ones are not that expensive.

the important part is the power they put down.
