I did ICV clean about 1 year ago (see post #59 above).

I stopped taking things apart when I realized I didn't have a new upper intake (ordering that now). When I will replace both boots, I will inspect ICV and DISA, as well as clean throttle body. For now, though, it is amazing the dip to 500 rmp is gone.

Thing is, I did not replace any of the boots yet, so I still have a small tear in the upper boot.

Either MAF cleaner or new filter did it .

I can believe that. Glad you found it. Sometimes those rpm dips can be maddening.

Still very much enjoy driving it and will continue to dabble in DIY territory as long as my friends here guide me in the process.

82,xxx miles, changed lower and upper intake boots (top had a small tear).

Took ICV out again and even though I cleaned that sucker about one year ago (11 months, ~ 7000 miles), there was build up again and the valve in there was not smoothly moving.

    All shinny inside again...

    Washed the salt and dirt:

Then switched out of the winter tire setup at 83,340 miles.

All weather I am putting on have about 20,000 miles on them (original new when I purchased the car). They make noise when I slow down but I have to deal with them one more season.

Approximate 3 year of ownership, repair/ maintenance cost: $600.
