I have been having issues with my sunroof opening slowly.

Well after a suggestion from joopy and seeing a similar issue on an old TVR during a wheeler dealers episode I picked up some silicone spray and lubed all the tracks.

It is much better, but next week I will do a more thorough job and post some pics.

Yeah I was worried about something popping off the track.

Definitely worth the 5 bucks for a can of spray.

Last night I replaced the CCV, along with oil dipstick o-ring, throttle body gasket, and cleaned the throttle body and IACV. What a PITA! Removing all the parts to get to the CCV was just lots of work, but the hoses were stuck on, and the release rings are hard to reach, and getting the new manifold hose in place (the one that twists on) was really, really hard. Once that was on, it was just work putting everything back together, but I was tired and made some mistakes.
    • Dropped 3 bolts/nuts, one bit and a wrench into engine bay, plus dropped a light 3 times. Fished wrench out with magnetic pick-up, light with hands, but had to remove plastic undertray to get other pieces back.
    • Forgot to unclip fuel purge valve from its hanger until after struggling with removing old CCV for a while.
    • Put new VC tube on backwards (upside down)! Disconnecting it from DISA was very difficult, at least 25 extra minutes wasted on that, before putting it back on right-way up.
    • Forgot to install cabin air filter last night. Noticed is sitting in garage this morning.

After all that work, I didn't find anything obviously wrong with the old DISA. No broken hoses--except what I broke on the ends removing them. No oil leaks. No clogged drain tube or dip stick. The insulation on the old intake manifold equalizer tube was very brittle and broke up, but not the tube itself. I guess I could have waited on the CCV for a while longer.

I got a used Driver's side 5 pt. Sparco harness for E46 Sedan. Do you want it? It needs to go to a good home that will use them. I'm done with my HPDE days. Let me know.

AND you can use the silicone spray to treat your weather stripping while you are out there!

How do you lube the sunroof tracks? I have never looked at the assembly from the top. just go from the top and spray a layer front to back and thats it?

Huge purchase today. I went to BMW of Lincoln and picked up 2 of these 07149166609. After a struggle I got them installed and everything is much better now.

Went for a drive and did not see a nice pot hole on my right, man my heart stopped when I hit that... No rim or tire damage, but pretty sure I lost a year of life.
