Does look good. So the double later the tint? I thought the UV would be baked in to their top of the line product.

Shawn, I'm assuming you meant to say "so they double layer"..... If so, then not really. The OEM privacy glass is a coloring in the glass, not any actual film like tint. So, we had them do a single film of the Llumar AirBlue 80 just to help with heat. I don't know how much of the heat and UV the OEM stuff blocks, but I do know that our first weekend with the X was sweltering, and you could really feel it inside. So, considering it's almost 100% clear, I said go for it. It made a huge improvement on the 328d we had. And lifetime warranty...

I was out today and really warmed up her shoes. They were super hot and sticky after I was done...
Once the weather shows signs of constant rain then I'll switch to my Conti DW's from my old car. It's nice to have low tread in the dry because there is just so much grip and less tread movement when turning in quick.

It's interesting that you say that because a Michelin rep / tire tester I spoke with claims that when a tire is brand new, with 0 miles on it, that is when it is at its absolute best. Their testing proves it...
That's what she said, at least. She tests the tires herself as well so I believe it. It came up when one of the people on my trip asked if tires have to be broken in when new and her answer was no, as a result of the testing they did.
Daniel, Patrick: Nice "comparison shots.

BP I always thought if race cars have slicks in the dry and tread in the wet, that applied to any rubber burning machine. LOL. The amount of grip I get from these RE050 tires is fantastic right now and it's nice and predictable on edge as well as when it's left the edge. Haha.
One thing I will enjoy is the extra tread of my DW's for cushioning small/sharp bumps. Having much less tread on the current rubber is somewhat jarring at times.
