    It's all based on the manufacturing plant. If I remember correctly the 2 alpha characters determine the manufacturing plant. The wife's, and Rando's were the same date and plant and we're assuming sequential in line.

    What is missing on the list are the vehicles Made in China under the auspices of BMW or ther manufacturers for local use and distributed only for Asia. I would assume they would be listed as manufacturers country code C ?

    India has a lot of foreign plants as well. Audi builds cars for the indian market in India, I think BMW does the same (335Li anyone ?). Saves on duties and they can sell the cars for cheaper.

    I gave the kid a list of likely's to shop for. A 330Ci was his top choice over G35, IS300, (late model) GTO, and a few others I proposed. I took it as quite a compliment to my ZHP vert he's driven a few times. Was aiming for ZSP, though. Never imagined we'd find a worthwhile ZHP in budget. He's juiced!
