I switched from OEM to Akebono ceramic 3 years ago. Very happy with the results. Brake dust is almost zero now.

Took the Mini for a joyride this morning. It's the first time I drive her in more than a month. Started right away. Also, stopped at Discount Tire to top off the tires.

I've heard this a lot, which is why I switched to them. Completely fed up with the stock brake dust.

Dude, get nitrogen... I used to leave the ZHP parked for 2-3 months at a time and I would get home and on the first drive, no flat spots, no problems. To me, it is SO worth the $69 for the annual service at the dealer.

I could easily be wrong, but I don't think nitrogen will inherently help with flat spotting. I'm pretty sure that's caused by the tires. Nitrogen will just results in less leakage and less fluctuation in pressure across temperature ranges. So I guess if O2 is causing them to loose pressure when the car sits, it could help. But other than that I'm not sure what the advantage would be.

Honestly I don't have a clue how it helps either, but that was the claim from the dealer when I inquired as to the benefits. I park my car every time I'm on the ship, and after switching to nitro, the flat spotting stopped. I still don't know how or why, but it does prevent them for sure.

Huh, I would have assumed that was dealer bs That's really interesting that it actually made a difference though! If I ever figure out why/how I'll let ya know, lol.
