Maybe the gaskets you guys got are different from the factory bmw ones? The old ones I removed were thin and the new ones were much thicker.

I removed the old ones, then peeled the sticky backing and installed them around the perimeter with my fingers. Then just put on the lenses and snapped the clips on. No trouble at all.

Bought the gaskets from bmw. $17 a piece.
Can you give us the part numbers? Maybe BMW has been giving out the wrong gaskets to some of us.

updated all my idler and tensioners and the P/S pulley today. I had a metal water pump one ready to install, but the PO already had one on there.

    Awesome progress Shawn!!

Actually did this for my ZHP yesterday but seeing it was a very long day I'll post it today.... After 4 years of ownership I finally purchased a good set of "meet wheels" for my ZHP. These used to be Stuart's wheels so I knew they would be in near perfect shape. Emily (current owner) has maintained them and they were kept very clean when BP and I arrived to pick them up. I sealed the deal with Emily and after seeing these wheels in person, handed her the cash and packed them in my ZHP

Here's how they looked in her living room where we picked them up...

Now for all the snow to melt so I can mount these wheels

Hmmm. That appears to be the same foam gasket I tried. The thing was so thick I couldn't push the lens back on. Not sure what you did. Come do mine. Lol.

Had to replace my expansion tank today. Not happy as it was OEM and not more than 4 years old. It sprung a small leak. Thanks to William who gave me his old one so I can be functional while I get a new one online and not have to rush payment. While there I replaced my dirty air filter and the foam 'snorkel' piece for the air intake.

Oh. And happy upcoming birthday to Ness....mfg date 3/10/06
