I didn't know that bit about waiting 15 mins, very helpful! I am excited to swap my beat aged alcantara for the perforated leather wheel I ordered. Your alcantara wheel almost makes me wish I had just gone for rewraping my wheel in alcantara.

William, the Perforated Leather steering wheel is nice, for sure! If you still have the worn Alcantara steering wheel you can always send it in to Coby for a rewrap and then do what I do regarding swapping out steering wheels when the need to change the look arises! Then it will be all the little things that make your driving experience even better

Any pics from Cars & Coffee? Grew up a few miles from where that dealer is now in Sudbury.

Pretty sure you don't have to do that...I mean...after two wheel swaps on my ZHP I definitely haven't even thought about it and have had no airbag lights after disconnecting the battery and removing the wheel/airbag in WAY less than 15 min. I would think after you pull the negative connection the car is basically dead immediately, even if there was residual draw, the time it would take to finagle the airbag off with a screwdriver would be enough time.

This. You don't have to wait 15 minutes. By the time you get the airbag off, any residual power should be gone.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

wait 15 minutes and you're guaranteed you won't get any airbag deployed indications on your dash. I will continue to wait the 15 minutes. I'm never in a rush when swapping out my steering wheel anyway.....

I don't even bother disconnecting the battery. The airbag light won't come on as long as you don't turn on the ignition while the airbag is out
