I didn't have any problems at all. Did he have a battery charger hooked up during the flash! You have to use a 10 amp battery charger set on manual during the flash otherwise you could brick the DME. There was a guy over on the M3 Forum that had this happen trying to flash the TTFS SMG tune and Frank was able to help him out. If thats what it is call Frank and don't keep trying to flash it.

What exactly is it doing anyway?

A battery tender isn't good for flashing, it supplies a trickle charge of approx 1.25 amps. I would tell him to call Frank before he tries anything else. He might make it worse.

Ya I think it will be way better than that ugly chrome one. Nothing is chrome inside the car except the shift knob and bezel. It also sits too low for my liking. The M5 knob sits slightly higher plus it lights up.

Gary, I think the M5 SMG Shift knob will look absolutely perfect once it's installed. In my humble opinion, this would be the logical upgrade for those with SMG

Look what Fedex brought! My new M5 SMG Knob!! Wired up the plug and tested the lights. Now just to find some time to install it.
