Have any of you guys had your pillow ball mounts go bad? If so, what were the symptoms? I think mine may be... I have some clunking up front that's been going on for awhile. I've tightened the top nut, adjusted preload, loosened and retightened all bolts that I could, with no luck.

clunking for sure, as any excess movement in a spherical bearing will make noise. it could also be a bad strut, or swaybar endlink, or ball joint.

Thanks slater. I should mention that it is most noticeable at low speeds. Going over bumps on the freeway doesn't feel as rough. I've checked end links and ball joints as well.

I too have been dealing with a "clunk" up front. It's been going on for a month or two and haven't really been able to figure it out. The ride is unusually rough too. I knew it would be stiff a stiff ride, but some times it's a little extreme.

    BC Racing BR Type Coilovers

I am actually having issues with my driver's side front clunking. Just replaced my fcabs and rtabs, adjusted preload, checked camber plate, and the clunk noise is still there at low speeds. I'm going to constant BC and see if they have any tips or if the whole strut needs replaced.

But other than that, I love my set! They're amazing!

It's been really frustrating, I did enjoy the ride before the clunks started to occur though. The "loose" feeling is the part that annoys me the most. I contacted bc racing and they sent me a troubleshooting guide through email, I'm planning on taking it apart and double checking everything when I get some time.

sounds like you're not the only one having issues with BC coilovers, based on the above comments.

a 'loose' feeling could definitely be a bad strut. it would also make noise. curious to see what you find, and how BC deals with it.

My clunking noise was due to a loose bolt on my front sway bar *facepalm*

Still need to get ahold of BC to replace my blown front end link. No clunking noises as of right now.
