Finally pulled the trigger and bought the stage one kit from bav sound. Waiting on some clips and sound deadning and then I'll install these bad boys. Pretty impressed with the quality, they were packaged well too. Also just ordered the wheel, e-brake, and shift boot trifecta from cobywheel.com today. Too excited for that! :thumb

You're making the right moves, man! Checkout the stock vs new units from my car

Which options did you go with for your wheel and boots?

18x9 ET 42 Apex EC-7's / BC Racing BR Type Coilovers / GruppeM Intake
ECS SS Brake Lines / Coby Wheel Wrap w/ Tri-Stitch / 35% Tint / BavSound Stage 1 / Stett Intake Boots / OE Euro Clears

Nice. I'm interested in your impressions once you have them installed and they're broken in.

Im definitely impressed with the build quality of each speaker, I'm excited to get these things installed! i need to fix a couple of rattles inside my car so this will be a great time to fix all them while i have the door panels off.

As for the wheel, i went with Black Alcantera with a dove grey center stripe and tri-stitch, Both boots are black with tri-stitch as well

Yeah I have some door rattles I need to deal with as well. I'm getting new door clips, the ones with rubber and foam to see if that'll help any. Their part numbers are (numbers are for a coupe):
    51418224768 (x16)
    51418224781 (x6)

Thanks for the p/ns! Do you know the different between the two? I Just checked and I have 35 (wasn't sure how much the sedan needed lol) of the clips on order right now, but they are the latter of the two you posted(the one ending in 81). They look the same to me?

I think they are built very well!

Good choice on the wheel and boots! I wish I would've gotten grey stitching on the black alcantara for all of my items. I still love the tri-stitch on my wheel though!

I regret not paying more attention to the quality of sound from the HK's. I usually drove around with the volume down, listening to the car lol. I still do that pretty often but I don't have a good comparison of the differences in the two systems.

I believe the ones that end in 781 have rubber gaskets/washer/things while the ones that end in 768 have foam instead. According to RealOEM.com, coupe doors have a mix of both. I was looking into them and I think on m3forum.net there was a thread about which went where. Apparently, the ones with rubber washers go in three spots vertically at the front of the door near the hinge, while the foam ones are for all other spots. I'm not sure why, maybe something to do with preventing water seepage? RealOEM doesn't show that for my car, just a mix of the two. I also now have interior door cards from a 2006 M3 and they're all white clips with no foam, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Either way, I plan to get a bunch of ones with the foam and hope that helps eliminate some rattle.
