There's probably a better way, but when that happened with my trim I slathered some gorilla glue on all the contact points, and 3 years of wild temp swings later it's still there!

Interesting stuffs. I'm thinking just going Euro tray is my best bet. I'd probably fab something to go into it as a cupholder. I used to do car stereos back in the day...like way back when you had to make your own dash kits....so I've got some skill with molding plastic and making things go into others and still look nice. Time may tell if I've still got it. Question: Can you wedge just about any cup size into the euro tray and slide it shut and that does alright? Like is it a lot better than my current small cupholder situation, and also better than the Ultimate Cupholder?

Why not just keep your cupholder insert in the glovebox and swap it out with the euro tray when you need it? It takes all of 5 seconds.

A big gulp or McD's iced tea won't fit. And if they did would be very risky...

Comparing the cupholder in my car to the eurotray in my father's car, there really isn't a whole lot of difference in width/diameter that either one can hold. The cupholder does "taper" in a way since it has a two-tiered opening, but even so, both are limited by the width of the center console.

Are you talking about using OEM parts to accomplish this? The stock cupholder insert can insert into the euro tray?

It doesn't insert "into" it, it replaces it entirely. Just lift it out and put the cupholder in, and vice versa. Quick change.
