And if it hasn't already been said, be extra careful with the paper thin ribbon cable on the mirrors. I learned the hard way...
Little update, last weekend I got a chance to install my m3 mirrors!
The process was definitely time consuming and a little nerve racking, but I'm definitely happy with the outcome. Wouldn't be possible without the rouge guide on how to cut the base plates and Charlie's diy on how to swap the mirror motors over to the m3 mirrors.
I ran out of time and wasn't able to swap the passenger side motor over. The drivers side is functional, I still think I need to do some adjustments. The movement is a little funky.
I also just left the base plates mystic blue for now, I ran out of time and didn't want to have to remove them again. I honestly kind of like the way it looks, I may paint them eventually
Here's some quick photos of the process

Anyone know what this cable is for? It was tucked behind the drivers mirror not connected to anything...

Looks perfectly executed Shawn! Well done! I'm glad my DIY was helpful in your mod!I wouldn't worry about painting your base plates.... they actually look good just the way they are on your car!
Thanks a ton Charlie! Couldn't of done it without your DIY! i had a little trouble routing the ribbon cable at first but i eventually got it figured out. I also had to remake the baseplate a few times to get the mirror positioned correctly. It's still not perfect but it'll do for now.
I need to do the passenger side but, I'd rather not have to deal with mirrors for a while.... Not a hard job, just really time consuming. (Took me 2 days 11 hours each day, and still didn't get done)
And I'm with you on the baseplates! The blue doesn't bother me at all. I was able to cut them pretty cleanly so it's not super noticeable.
