Moon rise still very very late (or early depending how your look at it) right now in the northern hemisphere. Believe it or not on July 4 we will have a new moon and it will mirror the sun's path of rise/set. It's also only showing about 5% of surface right now. This is pretty much the worst time for this lol.
Will likely have to wait till about the 7th or 8th to get another crack at it for more coverage and also for it to be up high enough in the western sky to photograph before it sets.
