    Go with NGK 1 step colder
    Our cars call for either of the following, according to RealOEM:
    * NGK BKR6EQUP
    * Bosch FGR7DQP

    Both of these are platinum plugs...
    I looked up BK6RE thinking he just forgot to write in the rest of the model and found out about the copper plugs (didn't know they made those). Not sure why anyone would want to use plugs that only last 20k though... it's not like there's going to be a big performance difference. The BK6REQUP are so cheap (I bought them for $6 a piece at Auto Zone I think), totally worth having the ones that last longer.

    Learned something either way - didn't know copper plugs existed.

    Mine were replaced well past 100k and they were still good. I don't hear of plugs going bad that soon on BMWs.

    I adjusted the headlights. It wasn't exactly scientific, but it should do for now.

    You can find the NGK BKR6EQUP (AKA: 3199) on Amazon for a little less than $3 a piece when you buy them in packs of 4 directly from amazon. Enjoy them in two days with prime!

    no, a copper plug will generally give it's best performance for about 20K miles. then they taper off. that said, they do conduct better and for how easy it is to replace them, i'm happy to do that.

    platinums will last 80-100K miles.

    copper's have been around way longer than platinum.

    if you read up on the differences between copper and platinum, you'll see that there is a conductivity difference. OEMs use platinum because they last longer, likely through the warranty interval.
