Thats quite a jump in price! At least she'll be good for a while now. Rumor has it the desert isn't friendly to batteries... I've actually never replaced one in my entire life.

Don't you replace your cars frequently though?

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

Every 2-3 years typically since I've been in BMWs, the last M3 was a little over a year though.

Ya that's what I thought! I was happy to hear I had a credit on the old battery. The issue out here in the desert is it goes from 115 in the summer to 25-30 in the winter during the mornings. Very hard on batteries.

And that's why you haven't had to replace a battery - you haven't had 'em long enough! lol
These cars seem pretty sensitive to batteries over 3-4 years old, in my experience. I've replaced my battery 2 or 3 times since I've owned my car, which has only been 6 years.

Not necessarily... I mean an 8-12 yr old BMW or battery is a 8-12 yr old BMW or battery, doesn't matter if I have been the owner for 10 min or 10 years. My point was even of all the cars I've owned I've somehow managed to be lucky enough to skip that part of maintenance. Even my fucked up E46 M3's battery was was on the few issues I wasn't required to remedy to get it into proper condition.

My battery is a bit over 5 years and 40,000 miles, and it's been working so far. It's had a few 0 degree starts by now.

One of LED fog lights went dim on the right. I ordered another set beings they were on sale. So I decided to see if I could get the bad one apart and see what was wrong with it. It took about an hour of prying it apart and I was shocked to find the CHEAPEST LED setup living inside these lights!! Needless to say I will be returning the new set. I have a set of X5 OE LED fog lights I'm going to retrofit into these housing. Well that's the plan anyway.

    See the bad LED?

    Time to retrofit!!

X5 fog light test. Cutoff line!
