I know right? The images from the 1.8 are unbelievably sharp. I mean for about $200 it's the best lens you can buy as you said.
I did think about getting a full frame next but decided to get D7300 (yes Nikon I'm waiting!) or a D500 (if I get a good deal) because I think the prices of the full frame lens are hard for me to justify... I wish all of them were as cheap as he 50mm lol

I can see what you're saying, I'll get back to editing lol, the temperature of the picture doesn't match the edit

Damn, is it that expensive now? I paid $75 with employee pricing back around 2006.

I've had a D700 since about 2 months before they were released. D50, D70s, D90 before, and I could never go back to a DX sensor.

I didn't want to spend too much on newer lenses since I don't shoot often enough to justify the cost. I've done some test shots including the interior shots. Can't complain for the price. Though since my camera is APS-C, I'm missing a bit of usability. The choices below 50mm get slimmer and $$$ for the legacy lenses.

    AF-S is about $200
AF is about half of that

Which one is yours? If you have the AF-S than that's some steep inflation lol

What are your thought on D500?

Oh mine is definitely AF-D. The AF-S 50 didn't exist at that time. D5k is a great camera and you can get a great deal on one it seems; just remember the glass in front of the sensor is just as, if not more, important.

i don't have a background in photography, and i kind of suck at taking pictures, but i absolutely love my nikkor 35mm f/1.8. it's so bright, and so fast, and so sharp. my wife hates it. she'd prefer to sit and zoom. however, she takes amazing pictures.

The 35/1.8 was made to be the APS-C equivalent of a 50mm lens on full frame (35*1.5=52.5mm). It's such a great focal length for an all purpose lens.

Using the LSD as intended for, Pete?? LOL

I like using just my stock 24-105 F/4L on my 6D. What can I use for a super quick lens that's sharp like my L glass?
