Drill that retaining screw out and order a new one. When you put the caliper and wheel on there will be no issue withot it.

I was thinking of doing something similar, but I'm waiting until I've made a few performance mods and finished my suspension setup. Schmiedmann has some big brake kits in yellow and silver that look pretty sweet for a bit over $1,700 including shipping. Their yellow calipers look great, but not for me. Yellow calipers on a silver car would be pushing it.

Whoa. Those are...loud.
I'll be making a thread for these (as it looks like rears are something most people have a hard time with. I forgot to say above: 8.5J ET45 barely rubs the caliper. Thankfully I've not sold my 12.5mm spacers, so I'm good but the front is very wide right now. I'm going to pick up a set of 3mm or 5mm asap.

Out with the old
In with the new
It took a bit longer than projected, but I took some time to clean up some of the areas and the leafs. I cleaned up the seals with RX uv protectant, and sprayed down the new cowl. The area under the cabin filter needed some vacuuming and I also wiped it down a bit.

You don't need a puller.

Wired up my Angel Eyes to the LCM using pin 44 (city lights). Snaking the wire from the driver's side to the passenger side was a major PITA.
Had to code the following using NCS Expert to enable pin 44/45
SL_VO_ANSTEURUNG -> aktiv
PWM_ANSTEUERUNG_SL_VO_RE -> wert_01
PWM_ANSTEUERUNG_SL_VO_LE -> wert_01

I used one since I bought one. I wanted to make the installation foolproof. I tried it without at first, but it didn't take long to change my mind.
Though I've read a few success stories that didn't use the puller. One of the guides has directions to remove the cabin filter housing and wire harness, but I find at another place that all you have to do is remove the filter cover.
