The landlord has a pressure washer at the house to prep for painting so I figured I'd give the ZHP a much needed wash. Hit it with some quick detail spray after.

Do the E31s have the crazy deep rear bucket seats like the E24 6ers did?

Oh yes. They are useless though, legroom in the back doesn't exist unless you move the front seats all the way up.

Minus the whole legroom issue, that looks comfortable as hell.

Never thought the E46 was that much larger than its older sibling, but it's pretty noticeable here. Also, that car was in sad condition

You're right, I never really realized that much of a size difference either as I rarely see them side by side and I've never seen the E46 considered to be a "large" car, nor an E36 to be a "small" car.

    Dimensions, E36 vs. E46
Length: 174.5 in vs. 176.7, net difference = 2.2 inches. Note: the E46 length is listed for a coupe, the longest of the body types, the shortest being 176.0 (sedan), for a minimum net difference of 1.5 in.
Width: 66.8 in vs. 71.3 in, net difference = 4.5 inches. Note: again, the E46 width is listed for a coupe/vert, apparently much wider than sedans according to Wikipedia (not sure how much I trust it). The sedan/touring width is given as 68.5 in. for a minimum net difference of 1.7 inches.
Height: Varies widely on body style. 53.1-54.8 in. vs. 55.5–56.5 in.
Wheelbase: 106.3 in. vs. 107.3 in., net difference = 1.0 inches.

I think wheelbase and width the only two meaningful measurements for comparing similar cars. Bumper changes can add 2" easy.
