    yep, 3.64.

i went with the 3.46 and i think it's great... 1st/2nd/3rd gear is much better, and the revs in 6th are at 2950rpm at 75mph.

The M3 has different gearing in 1, 2, 3, and 6 making it more livable with its 3.62 diff. But it’s really most dramatic in 1st where it’s longer so the engine power doesn’t just spin you to redline at 2MPH “ground speed”.

Alignment this morning. I’m dragging my feet on swapping in the non-rusty subframe. Whenever I do that I’ll put in the adjustable lower control arms I have laying around, so I can finally get the rear camber into spec. The lady was very intimidated by my asking about camber and castor adjustments, so she made the highlighted note on my paperwork below.

Luckily the tech doing the work has a tracked 370z, so he just laughed it off. On the way home, this guy gave me a thumbs up. I reciprocated.

Tomorrow I’ll do an oil change, and swap the steering guibo. Yes, I know I should’ve done it before the alignment, but it wasn’t supposed to be delivered before I left for Ohio.

    cool. love the viper!

and the steering flex disc can be replaced without affecting alignment.

and as for intimidating the Firestone Lady... well, probably most folks don't know any different, so you through her for a loop.

The Viper was great, and of course it sounds freaking fantastic.

Yea I’m not sure she even knew there were three factors in the alignment—she looked at me like I was speaking Romanian. I’m sure 99% of people come in and just say “alignment please!”

My local Firestone rep had no problem with my requested custom alignment settings. He knew what I was talking about and had me write down the settings that he should input into the system. Super easy.

He actually went above and beyond to order a specific set of tires, even as going as far as getting them from TireRack's warehouse the same day for me. Rockstars.

What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

It was all for my little brothers car but...

drive shaft support bearing, guibo, RTABs, front control arms, 4 tires, alignment, removed window tint, installed fog lamps and proper connectors, cleaned throttle body, iac valve and replaced the vac caps on the back of the manifold, as well as the vac line to the fpr. It was a busy day! Then I got home and 3M resto’d his headlights because they were pitiful.

Shot of the ill fitted m3 bumper

And for the sake of a post restoration shot of the headlamps

    Before restoration

    After

Here is the parts removed for guibo and center support

    And the RTABs

    New arms in

This car needs a lot of attention
