Started on my OFHG swap today......stopped so I can roll the car out of the garage tomorrow and simple-green the shit out of everything while the alternator and air box are out.
With everything in place it doesn't look terrible:
Once I pulled the housing the yuk is revealed:
Cleaned the inaccessible area under the housing as best as I could:
Will post photos after I get the block cleaned off tomorrow.
So far it's a pretty simple job....just nasty!

Oh well....I scrubbed everything, hosed it off, re-assembled, and, didn't take photos. Suffice it to say she's back together and purring with no oil leaking that I can tell. I will be putting a new belt tensioner and pulley on since the existing one is sounding a little rumbly, but that will come after I do the OFMG on my E61. It too is leaking but not making near the mess. Unfortunately, I'll be ordering a new water pump and thermostat for it since it's apparently throwing a code. Oh well....thank goodness for FCPEuro and their reasonable prices!!!

Regarding my Koni Sport drama, Koni responded rather quickly, and I was able to talk through my concerns with a confidence-inspiring technical rep (so refreshing). Essentially, all of my perceived differences between the shocks are meaningless to the function of the shock, so I just need to to pull them out, readjust properly (counting the turns), and reinstall.
