Thanks! And yeah they are Gen 3.

    ...

The fcabs were the culprit. Removed them and cleaned them. Applied a synthetic grease I picked up this morning. Green marine grease of some sort.

    Noise is gone for now.

Ride home was noise free, right up until I turned into my neighborhood.

I’m gonna do as some of you guys have mentioned and pull the fcabs back out and re lube them. I’ll be picking up a synthetic / water proof grease in the morning, not sure what’s in the generic wheel bearing grease at work...

I'm not so sure "lubing" the FCAB'S is recommended. I'm curious what the SIB says.

    Looks great BTW.

    Thanks!,

I think you may be confused lol, they are AKG bushings. They recommend wheel bearing grease, but what I originally used was flashing off and thinning out on hot/track days to the point that it sounded like the front was coming apart.

Not confused. Just didn't know they were poly.

I like my gen 3 headers... lots of torque but they were a bitch to install.

I'm using silicone based grease on my front and rear poly swaybar bushings... stuff works great! They've never dried out in the 6 or 7 years I've had them on the car. I re-apply when I take them off to do other maintenance as PM

Yes these are the worst headers as far as install goes. My co-workers think I’m joking when I say I’m just dropping the motor out on the table if i ever have to remove them.

And I’ll be keeping a close watch on these bushings, any more noise out of them I’ll try out a silicone grease.

Lol I may have said that too... Plus I have a 70 lb supercharger on the other side... I'm thinking of dropping the whole thing to do the clutch

Yeah I’m holding on to the shred of hope that a used ESS kit will come up for sale.

Probably gonna do a lightweight flywheel in the next year on the ZHP.

Wow - 70lbs... Really?? Is that just the weight of the blower or the whole system? How much did the additional weight affect front end grip?
