Just changed out the hydraulic trunk struts with new Stabilis units. I wasn't sure it would make much difference, but it sure does.

Our trunks are heavy, especially with the tool kit loaded. I guess I'd gotten used to my trunk slamming if you just let it drop from higher than about 6 inches. My drive-thru dry-cleaners likes to give it an extra shove too - drives me up the wall! But the new struts dampen it nicely, so even with a full drop it just closes with a controlled solid "snick".

Nice! Glad you went with Stabilis. I tried Uro struts once, never again.

for me it was the whining noise from the old struts. No more, but i almost miss it now

Installed the replacement driver's side mirror. It's amazing how much I use it, and it wasn't apparent until I didn't have one.

I recently ordered a set of BBS center caps for my M3

an impact driver set so I can tale out the set screws on my rotors when removing them

and I ordered a brake fluid flush kit and caliper piston compressor tool for brake maintenance

regarding the tools above, this is something I have been needing to have and I will now have them going forward...

A fellow ZHP owner helped me weigh my car today. Came in at 3106lbs with a little under 1/3 tank.

Getting very close to my weight goals, if I can hit 3053lbs curb weight (CSL weight) I'll be very happy. Hopefully saving weight off the front end will also get me back closer to 50/50 weight distribution.

    That’s pretty good!

What changes have you made apart from the 12v battery?

Good thing I've been keeping a list:

    -Rear sound deadening removed
    -Armrest delete
    -Euro center console/tray
    -Lightweight HVAC housing
    -Spare tire delete
    -Spare jack delete
    -Wheel chock delete
    -Grab handle delete plates
    -Rear headrests delete
    -Hood insulation delete
    -Pillars sound deadening removed
    -Floor mats removed
    -Speakers removed
    -Radio delete plate
    -H/K and bass amp removed
    -Dashboard carpet removed
    -Z4 steering wheel
    -Exhaust support removed

I also started out with the lightest spec (slicktop, non-folding, halogen base model sedan) which helps a ton. I think manual seats, carbon hood and an empty tank should get me into CSL territory easily. The list is long but at first glance, the car looks and feels stock which was the main goal (Clubsport type build).

Perhaps consider replace the washer tank with the high intensity headlamp washer tank from the e39. A couple people on m3forums have done it:

Haven't seen that one before, thanks for sharing! I'll definitely be looking into that.
