Just bought some CBI Osrams to swap out by bi-xenons.

I want to get some awesome fogs and drl/high beam halogens.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would match the CBIs? I have checked up and down here and e46fanatics for like, "the best" fogs/DRLs and it's impossible to find something current.

I usually buy from retrofit source, but I dont wanna just buy blindly this time. Wanna know if I should go for a specific brand.

I found a pretty good replacement solution for tattered turn signal housing gasket trim. I created a DIY thread here.

It's raining with nothing to do, so I pulled the parcel shelf. Going to give it along with the A and C-pillars some life with black fabric spray dye (another weekend); I re-wrapped the pillars with Alcantara 3 years ago and they are pretty faded as well. It's about damn time - I've had the fabric dye since February of this year but just never got around to it.

Unfortunately in trying to scrub off the rubberized coating from the seat belt trim I made it much worse. Probably just gonna find another used one (lemme know if anyone has a spare) rather than trying to paint this one

The fabric dye is great, really refreshed the used interior I put into my car. Still looks the same after almost 3 years.

In the meantime I finally got the city lights to work. Horrible project (a lot of conflicting and missing info out there), but I've also never cared about lighting so I will never understand how some people do this mod voluntarily.

SEM Color Coat Landau Black does a great job on carpet & plastic trim. You need to brush the carpet between coats to keep it from getting too stiff.

I'm imagining you had to tear apart a bunch of your interior to route wiring and sort through a myriad of wiring diagrams? How's it like back home (on the US plates) and when do you have to actually register it?

    I got this:

Designer Accents Fabric Paint Spray Dye by Simply Spray - Black (3) https://a.co/d/6rSqdDp

Pricey since I can't find a better deal for one or two cans anywhere but reportedly one of the few dyes to not leave the fabric stiff, per old M3 forum. Whenever I get around to it I'll report back

I ended up just using whatever fabric dye I found at Advance Auto. Might have even been Dupli Color. It does stiffen the fabric though, which never bothered me that much.

The city light wiring is easiest to route through the DME box. You can also wire separately, so left through DME and right through glove box. It's annoying enough to pull wires through the firewall so I just pulled both through the DME while I had all of that removed. You can also tap directly into ground (behind the side markers) so you don't have to cut any existing wires, which makes the whole mod reversible as well.

Some additional stuff that isn't explained anywhere includes how grabbing a spare X12 connector makes attaching the pins way easier or that no coding is required if you are converting to an ECE LCM anyway. Also the facelift sedans and coupes already have rear fogs lights so no work required there. Just gotta get the button to turn them on.

I got a couple other BMW enthusiasts excited with the US plate based on Autobahn reactions but the attention is getting a little old. Going in for inspection today, not really expecting to pass but at least they'll let me know what still needs to be done instead of having to guess.
