I noticed the Kiks R40 lug nuts currently on my wheels are looking worn so I ordered new Muteki HR38 and SR 48 open ended lug nuts and locks to refresh my wheels.

I took the time to really give my Alcantara steering wheel a good cleaning and then steam clean the wheel as my final step. The results were amazing and my wheel now feels like a brand new Alcantara wheel.

This water used to clean this wheel got really dirty as I got all the crud and dirt off this steering wheel after two years of use. I won't wait as long to give this wheel a cleaning next time. Next will be my Porsche's Alcantara steering wheel. Nothing beats a clean Alcantara steering wheel

I also refreshed the lower steering wheel trim while I was cleaning the steering wheel. The fresh trim really brings out the cleanness of this wheel...

Never thought I?d say this, but I have steering wheel envy! Lol! Looks great.

Q1: What is the red button?
Q2: What cleaner do you use? I?ve been using Suoer Clean diluted 16:1 and a microfiber. Then wipe off any excess with a damp one. I also periodically use a fabric shaver to get rid of the balled up alcantara.

This is just the cruise control on/off button. The red button is purely there for cosmetic effects, nothing more.

I use Sonax Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner. I allow the cleaner to soak into the dirty Alcantara (I only do a quarter of the wheel at a time) then use hot water and microfiber cloths to take off the dirt from the Alcantara. This is a slow process as patience is everything when keeping the Alcantara looking nice. I then allow the "cleaned wheel" to dry over night before taking a steam cleaner to the Alcantara one last time and then using clean microfiber cloths to wipe off the moisture from the steam. The wheel is then cleaned and the Alcantara feels soft like it originally did.

I have used this product on my Alcantara for years with excellent results.

Thanks for the link and the tutorial! I?ve had some success using my method, but not the best. Just put it in the cart!

Only thing missing is a steam cleaner.

I thought maybe that red button was to turn on/off the traction control! Hahaha!

Glad to share info on how I maintain my Alcantara steering wheel. Hope you get similar results. Having a steam cleaner really does wonders in going the extra mile when cleaning your surface. It can also be used to clean many other areas as well. Very handy device to have.

Just wanted to change things up just a bit . . . more a homage to my ZHP where I retrofitted a blue I/O cruise control power button on it.

One other thing, do you use one of those fabric shavers to deal with the balled up alcantara?
