    rear rotor stuck on hub

Hey all, I am in the middle of changing my brakes, and the rear rotors are stuck to the hub. I've sprayed with penetrant, I've whacked the hub area with a deadblow, I've even given the braking surface moderate whack with the deadblow, all to no avail.

I tried to press the rotor off using longer bolts through the caliper bracket, but it doesn't line up with the hub, rather it just pushes on the tin backing plate.

    Any ideas????

  6. Tap with a hammer right onto the face of the rotor.. the vibration will eventually make it detach. Unless, the rotor is loose but the handbrake pad is catching a lip that forms out of rust over the years.

Yes, lower your e-brake handle, put one lug nut back in about 1/3 rd of the way, and wail away with a heavy hammer as it will eventually pop. That one ug bolt prevents it from falling on your toes.

The reason it's so tight is from all the build up in the e brake drums. Getting the rear rotors off sucked!!!

If I remember rite, there are two 8 mm tapped holes in the roter face. Use 2 8 mm bolts to push the rotor off the hub.
