I don't know if there is an app on the iphone that lets you see the actual battery statistics but that would be helpful. I use a kensington 2.1A charger and it pulls the correct amount to my Moto X when I use my motorola cable. The monoprice cable I tried, didn't like it at all.

...And I left it connected to my OEM AUX in cable routed to my glove box. I have the OEM flashlight port to 12 volt plug adapter installed and USB power connected to that:

Then I just have power routed to my phone if I need it charged and whenever I unlock the car, it powers up the flashlight port which turns on the bluetooth audio receiver which connects to my phone. The sound is just like I had the phone plugged in but wireless! #Ghettomods LOL
I had not seen this! Nice cheap option.

What is plugged into the DC outlet in the glove box? The phone?

The cool thing with that device is it turns on and off when power is applied. So many miniature bluetooth receivers have an on/off switch that have to be manually turned on and off because it contains an internal battery. Others won't work when charging at the same time. And others use the same headphone plug to charge so you can either do one or the other.

Trevor - what version of Battery Detective are you running? I'm finding quite a few that are incompatible with iOS7...

EDIT: The only version that would install doesn't work (1.4).
What repo can I get it from?

See nmac9's DIY on how to add a power adapter. I am still not clear what Trevor is plugging into it (I'm old and a bit slow).
