I personally stayed with Ambers because I like the ambers. It adds color to my black car. I prefer the clears on the red, because the amber is too close of a color shade to the red and makes the taillights look a little off and blends in all wrong IMO.

I think the ambers on your car make it more badass. Everything is dark which gives it the badass look (especially with your StopTech calipers), but there's that little flair (the ambers) that says "but I have a sense of humor too". It's like that guy that everyone thinks is really serious but when you talk to him find out he's funny as hell. That guy!

(and by funny I don't mean funny looking, I mean it has personality)

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

BMW intended these cars to have clears but Mr. DOT didn't want any of it. -_-

DOT can suck it. Must be the same logic behind "You're brake fluid can't be blue."

Same reason automatic high beams are illegal here. Those AWESOME LED selective high beams in the Audi A8 are not legal in the states cause of some law requiring high beams to have a manual switch override.

All of this, in my opinion of course:
AW doesn't really have much of a choice. Clears are the only way to go because it's more cohesive with the color. Ambers look out of place on an Alpine White car because they fit neither the "they match" criteria nor the "clever contrast" categories. It's kind of hard to pull off ambers on Alpine. The clears give it a 'fresh as hell' look, and definitely fit the "they match" category of apperance as they most closely match Alpine White in color.

With that being said, I feel you'd have to mod the crap out of the car visually to pull off ambers, and whether that's successful totally depends on what mods are done. With clears, you don't even have to mod it any other way for it to look good.
