    Day 2:

We awoke this morning to snow in New York, which start to make us wonder how good of an idea it was to make such a trip in January. We packed up our things and headed out into the elements. Needless to say wind, snow, cold, and humidity made for some pretty knarly weather. We made it the ferry pier just in time to catch the ferry to North Jersey. Upon our arrival the owner of the car picked us up in his new E46 M3 and we sped off to finalize the deal. Luckily, the weather in Jersey wasn't nearly as bad as in NYC. My mother sent us a text saying, “Make sure all of yall’s parts stay cozy.”

The previous owner was nice enough to put the winter tires and wheels on the car that I had sent to him from Tirerack. For some inexpensive wheels I think they look pretty good, though I know they will be a pain to keep clean. Speaking of clean, the car needs an interior detail and a good bath. The salt in the east is nasty stuff. Otherwise the car is in good shape. Luckily, not meticulous like my last ZHP. After we picked up the car and got temporary tags at the DMV. Side note: DMV’s in Jersey are not pleasant places haha. By this time we started to get hungry so we found the nearest White Castle and took part in our obligatory snack of boxed burgers. We both agreed when it comes to In & Out vs. White Castle that In & Out wins hands down.

For the longest time I had wanted to try an authentic Philly Cheesesteak so we headed down to Philadelphia and my dad whipped up some research that led us to Joe’s Steak and Soda Shop. He felt like we should go here because it more of local spot and the reviews said the waitresses are young and cute. He mentioned that you never do know who you might meet…and we joked that one of them might want to take a vacation back to Colorado with us (He is always trying to find me a girlfriend) lol. The cheese-steaks were great, both with provolone and cheese wiz. I will have to admit that they weren't amazing though. By this time our food adventures had gotten us behind schedule so we decided we best be heading out. We are spending the night in Columbus, Ohio tonight and the weather is looking good from here on out.

On about the ZHP though. It had been awhile since we drove a ZHP and we both are very impressed by it. It can be smooth and quiet when need be, but can also really wake up and growl when you want to play. The Magnaflow exhaust sounds great and we will see if we can’t get an exhaust clip for you guys. I really like the Alcantara interior and the heated seats are dreamy. So far we are having a lot of fun with the car and it’s a comfortable cross country ride. We only wish we had more time to stop to drive some of the back roads in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Here is our route, and the few pictures we had from today. We hope to give the car a wash tomorrow so hopefully more pictures to follow.

    Happy Travels!

In N Out is damn good. Even Anthony Bordain says it's the first thing he get's when he lands at LAX.
