Cracked a foglight last fall and rather than replacing it, I decided to cover both with a couple layers of blue painters tape - at least through the winter road gravel season. ...
Put the new one in last month and today notice that the other one cracked now and the new one has a chunk missing. Dadgummit! I don't think I've used my fogs more than a handful of times anyway, so I'm thinking of just covering them back up.
I'd like to find a more permanent and asthetic solution to blue painters tape, but have not been able to find anything off the shelf that fits my needs. There are clear/clearish films out there, but I'd like to put an opaque covering on them. Since they are cracked, I figure I'll slather some adhesive on the lenses and put whatever I find on top of that - referably in the same blueish tone (it actually looks kind of cool. Or is it kewl? k3w7? kuhl? At any rate, I like it...).
I've looked into some 3mm neoprene or codura. Any other ideas?
