If it was a in public place no approval is legally necessary, though if I was the photographer I'd probably ask as a courtesy...if you happened to be standing there of course.

Haha nice! I collect old consoles and computers. I'm hunting for a Heathkit H19 or Wang 2200DP right now. I grew up using machines like those and it's nice to work with them sometimes. Plus, you really get the picture of how much technology has exploded in the last 50 years or so. Heck even just taking things back to 1990, there's a massive gulf between the tech.

I've seen like wristbands that you can wear and the drone follows behind. I think on some of them you can set the height/distance you want it at. Great for hiking snowboarding. Just watch out for any low power lines.

Lowers value, because it is no longer original and has been significantly modified from stock. With that, the risk of them not doing the job properly is introduced, or at least the uncertainty of it.

Oof, SMG to 6MT swap but kept the SMG steering wheel. At least you could sell the old wheel to someone on M3forum who needs a rewrap core.

Couple of things:
(1) as Mystic really a rare color on the M3? I thought it was pretty common, where Topaz would be the rare blue.

(2) if you plan to keep the ZHP (or at least keep it for a little while) then for $9.5k that has potential to be a nice car with a little work, and assuming everything else checks out.

Edit: isn’t there a service interval around this mileage? It could be due for several things, which I assume the seller hasn’t taken care of based on the other things previously mentioned (Vanos, valve adjustments, suspension is probably toast, etc.). The S54 is definitely a different beast, and is the reason I decided on a ZHP—my budget certainly allowed for an E46 M3, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to deal with having one as my only car.

Master active track in an empty baseball field and learn how you can control hour drone’s angles and altitude as it constant tracks you as you walk around the field. Once you get that you’ll want an open space for car shots until you learn the drone’s AI more. You’ll want to fly where you can run the camera at max 1/60 of shutter although 1/30 is preferable. To get that shot without over exposing you’ll need to either wait until it gets dark enough or purchase ND filters for the lens.

You barely need any speed to get a blurred motion background. The one I did was 1/60 at under 10mph. I know 1/30 would be even greater. At much farther distance you will need longer shutter or faster motion.

It is. This was my first experience on the Autobahn. I got my thrills a few times. I did not push it past 200 kph; did not want to exceed my experience and abilities.

My dad’s E39 is Oxford Green. It’s beautiful when it’s properly detailed. It’s garbage when it’s not.

Playing with the drone today again. It was too bright for me to do low shutter which meant I needed more speed. So I had to learn how to fly the drone backwards at around 20MPH, while keeping it on course so it didn’t back into a light pole.

Yes, 437M wheels from an f80, 9x19 and 10x19. The wheels came with 255/35 fronts and 275/35 rears, stock set up from a M4, beautiful PSS’s with 9/32nds tread, but had to change them due to tire diameter. The 335i is xdrive which only allows 1% or less tire diameter difference between front and rear axles, only applies to BMW awd cars. We could hear a slight dragging noise at 35-40 mph with stock M4 tires, talked with a t-case engineer at work, he said I was hearing the clutches slipping in the t-case trying to compensate for tire diameter difference. Brett bought new PS4’s, 235/40 and 265/35 (same stagger as his previous 2 cars), tire diameter difference is 0.1 inch, about 0.4%, t-case noise is gone.

My daughter doesn’t enter college until Fall 2020, at that point GiGi & I will be at every W&M home women’s soccer game, probably most away games too. I don’t have delusions that she’ll be a starter as a freshman but do expect her to see some playing time in most games. With the 2 older brothers, Lil Nik doesn’t give a crap about the size of her opponent, as a natural center defender she normally picks the biggest and/or fastest opponent’s scorer and says I got this one. She has an ID camp at W&M this coming Thursday-Saturday, GiGi will drive her to/from, I’m hanging back to install new brakes on my truck, and hopefully go boating too.

How was the ROVAL at CMS?

First of all, it was bumpy as hell. There’s a huge dip at T1 into the infield, which isn’t ideal because there’s a concrete wall on the outside of that turn. There are actually a lot of concrete walls in the infield, and I admittedly was fairly uncomfortable in certain sections. The driving line through the infield isn’t super obvious, which really left it up to a lot of trial and error. There’s another huge dip right before the infield exit, which is off-camber and again there’s a concrete wall. The banking is unbelievably bumpy, I can’t imagine how that would feel at 190-200mph.

My diff gearing once again was annoying. Leaving the infield in second would’ve left me shifting immediately on the banking (not ideal), but taking it in third left me with my foot to the floor and not a lot happening (the option I used each lap). I was only able to get to ~115mph before the braking zone for the chicane.

The weirdest part is how useless your side mirrors are on the banking. The driver side shows nothing but the apron, and the passenger side just gives you a nice view of the sky.

All that’s to say it was interesting, and I’m glad to have driven it, but I will gladly be sticking to traditional road courses going forward. The exception being that I really want to drive the Rolex course at Daytona.

When we started it was hot as balls. Our last run was at 8pm, and that was only because of the two wrecked cars; I think it was supposed to be a 7:20 final session. The M3 (which I’m thinking was actually Interlagos, not LMB) required an EV so cleanup was very slow. I’m glad it was darker though because (1) it was a cool experience, and (2) the tires were a lot less greasy. Greasy tires + concrete walls instead of runoff areas = occasionally clenched buttholes.

Also, I leveled out Nate’s picture to show the banking a little better. I can’t wrap my head around the fact Talladega is 9° steeper.

I had the opportunity to go up to Calabogie with Botond over this past weekend and have to say I had a blast while I was up there. The people who were there were awesome and when Botond ran into a little snag, there were so many people willing to give a hand to help him get past his snag. Unfortunately Botond lost a track session due to the snag he ran into but in the end everything turned out well and his ZHP was back in the game... Assembly specs that matter performance wise; 87mm 11.5:1 pistons, Eagle Rods, RR cams, super tech dual valve springs, m50 manifold and Raceland euro headers. ASC deleted and an old Dinan CAI.
It’s got a bit over 700 miles on the setup now and I’ve ran it through the rpms a few times. Seems to make most power very late “4K+” granted it is trying to run on stock mapping and the exhaust manifold primaries are huge.

Edit: it also has a 14lb flywheel and act sprung hub clutch.


She hasn’t hit the dyno yet. I’m on vacation out of town all next week. But when I’m back I think I’m going to take it to BPC and see what they can do with a tune.

Thanks. I had checked those out once before but they look so much darker in the eBay post than in your picture. The smoked Depo side markers on my X3 didn’t look nearly that dark.

NOTL on Canada is a huge winery area, and a very interesting and savvy art community. We did a B&B, then went to the the annual Shaw Festival and saw some terrific plays. Food was outstanding (plus the great exchange rate). Rode my Trek bicycle 45 miles round trip up to Niagara Falls on Saturday 7/7 (had to do it). 67 year old legs won't win the Tour de France but still getting me to some sweet places (and I slept like a log that night).

The entire area reminds me a bit of Cape Cod or maybe Martha's Vineyard, or even Door County north of Green Bay. All great tourist spots

It tore something again. [emoji23] This car seems to need as much bottom side attention as it gets on the top side! It’s fixed now. We’ll monitor that area and check. Since I am one of the Vincebar/skinz first customer we’re learning where additional stresses are moving too and my car is a good example because I am relentless with it and tell it to do things people would think is E46 cruelty. [emoji14]

mannn seeing shots like this make me want to sell the sedan and start over with a clean wagon....

i just sold the white wagon.. picked up a japan rot XI wagon and picking up an orient blue wagon.... both on natural brown sport interiors....

both are to be S54 swapped and sold this year but man im really thinking about selling the sedan and keeping one of the wagons.... they look so good.
