He's talking about part #10 which your kit replaces with something undoubtedly harder and longer lasting.
If it was me, in addition to your kit, I'd replace both #2's, #5, and the pin #15. That covers all the reported sources of slop.
I think those are the parts I have targeted. Aren't pictures # 18 & 19 on pelican the same as #2 above (25-11-7-507-695)?

The E46 used two different carriers. RealOEM show this one for up to 06/2003 and is the one in the DIY on Pelican

This is the one for E46 from 06/2003. It uses the carrier that is forked in the front and the bushings are 25-11-7-519-670
