I've been reviewing costs on the LSX motor swap. Doing this in my zhp, probably not worth it. If I were to do this swap, I'll do it in a e36 or e46 that is cheaper than dirt and needs a motor.

Probably thinking the supercharger route sounds better.

Widebody, custom offset... that car has a ton of work
So I was about to buy a gloss black (piano black) grille from Khoalty after about 2 weeks of putting it off and of course when I get a chance to buy them they are discontinued. So I am wondering if you guys have any other suggestions on where to get gloss black grilles from around the same price. Based off what people said, the Khoalty ones had a decent fit for the price so hopefully I can find some of equal or better value somewhere else?
Check out ecstuning.com bavauto.com or andysautosport.com

Ecs tuning only has matte black ones, could not find any on bavauto, and andysautosport has these which are pretty expensive. Maybe I should just try to paint them myself, pretty disappointed I didn't get them from Khoalty...
OEM performance grilles for OEM fit and finish.

Really not looking to spend $112 on a set of grilles, I think I may just try to paint them myself if I can't find a good deal or a used set somewhere else.
I painted mine but they are already chipping.

That sucks. I got them last year for what, around $40 I think.
You can probably find another vendor that carries/sells them, I remember shopping around back then and remember finding some other sources but Khoalty's was the cheapest.
Highly recommend going the paint route if you cannot find any sellers though, just need to add a clear coat at the end to make sure it doesn't chip and can be protected from small impacts. No sense in pay triple digits for BMW Performance grilles.....can't see the "performance" in grilles....maybe the intake and exhaust but not a 100% aesthetic piece.
Thanks will do, I also found this useful DIY thread that I can use. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=651307
Agreed triple digits is way too much for this, thanks for the tips.

Alright fellas, this week I am purchasing these bad boys. After thinking long and hard about my options of making more power, I have decided to stay with the M54 engine and mod the hell outta it. With the headers I will kick off project overkill! Thread coming soon.

I'll be sure to follow your build! Definitely interested in the install.
I'll be sure to start a thread when it comes time. Wife gave me the green light, she said as long as I don't leave us broke and we can buy our new house this fall. Check and check!

Has anybody done an oil pan gasket replacement on the m54 motor? Mine is starting to seep and the gasket itself is cheap I might as well replace it before it gets wrose.
Yea BB. It comes with gaskets and bolts for the header to mid-pipe, but I wouldn't use the gaskets. I used the bolts for the mid pipe bc the headers were threaded and the old bolts are pressed in and don't come off. The gaskets are crap...I bought all oem gaskets and new header studs and all new nuts as well; costs about 120$ for all the hardware. I'm glad I did it that way, it's a much better fit and finish. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/15/7e5a4e2y.jpg

An engine support bar is recommended. That way you can access underneath the front end. If you are dropping the subframe I would also change your engine mounts.

M3 engine mounts and trans mounts?
Anything is better than 100k+ mile mounts.

Asked this earlier in the thread and it kinda got lost in the noise, so i'll give it another shot again :fingers crossed
Is this the proper fix for this noise? (violin clutch noise)
