My second "mod", if you can call it that

So after putting all black kidney grills on out of necessity (one fell off only god knows where), I've installed LED license plate lights. It really gives it a more modern look from the back.

    Before

    And After

The after shot looks a bit dim in the photo, but I think it was the angle I was at and since I got closer, the focus went a bit wonky, but it looks great when I stand back. Is this really a mod though? AND, dumb question... the LED bulb is a flat board, and I installed them to where they would "face" down when the lid is closed. Should I angel them upward, towards the little reflector that is in there?

I feel like mine don't distribute the light as well as the oem ones did. Does anyone else have that problem, or even better has fixed that problem?

I'm starting to think the same way. I am gonna try and rotate the bulbs so that they facing a bit more towards the reflector and see what difference it makes

So angling them made no difference. They're definitely brighter, but have a focused beam of light, which makes it not spread very well. Attached is a few more shots

is there any way to put a washer on the outer side so they're not exactly flat but angled towards the plate?

Looks good. I wouldn't mind upgrading all of my lights to LED.
