When I purchased my ZHP, it was pre-wired for IPOD by PO. The connector is in the glove compartment. It looks like a professional install. I know it works. I plugged it once and a song came out. But I do not know how is it hooked up. I could not control song selection or how to set up for use. Would this manual be a good start on how to use the IPOD?

If it's the official BMW iPod kit, then no. IIRC, the OEM kit only plays a specific playlist . . . or something.

^This. You'll need to know a bit more about what's actually behind the glove box. There are several options that provide iPod connectivity but I only know about the DICE unit. I'm not certain but believe the connector on the iPod side might have a logo on it that would help identifying the unit it goes to.

As an FYI, many kits have a way to either control from the Ipod or from the head unit. As for my Dice, if the Ipod is in "lock" position, the head unit controls the playlists, etc. If it's in unlock, I control the selection from the Ipod itself.

I will try to see if the connector has any logo markings. If nothing, then I have remove the glove box? (How do I remove the glove box? Any link?) The HU is a standard stock like everyone else....All I know is that the Ipod connector wiring was run through a rubber grommet and out to the glove box. Looks very professional. I don't think that this is a BMW Ipod kit though....but what do I know....let you guys know more later.

I'd honestly avoid it. There are other more "correct" ways to get the car in the air without it.
