Very impressive JP!
Thanks Charlie!

Well, it didn't come out as well as I had imagined... but still better than before.
disassembled
Sharpie ZHP needle mod (not pictured- I also used silver to do the rings)
LED's installed
A bit unimpressive, I also need to do something about that gap at the top
and then I took it for a test drive with aHUD on in the window (pic is in the ZHP)
So it works and speedo is fairly accurate, only a few mph under like usual with German cars. I only got up to 50 so tomorrow I'll test it on the freeway.
Unfortunately there was an issue (02 through E30 owners will know what I'm about to say). The gears on the odometer are broken, doesn't do anything. Pretty sure I can cannibalize the 80MPH one since that one works. I'll have to get that fixed but for now mileage is free... kinda.
Great haul JP. Very jealous you have a place to pick, and something to pick for!
Nice work on the gauges. Sad that your efforts were for naught at the moment. Damn plastic gears.
Porsche 944 Turbo Build
One ride and you'll understand why most rocket scientists are German.
My ZHP Build 2004-2014 RIP
Thanks Ry and Justin. Well, the gremlins have sprouted overnight. Now the speedo doesn't even come close to reading correctly. It has a high pitched whine, by 20MPH it reads 60, and by 40 MPH it was almost all the way around and about to hit the little rest for the needle at 0... so I just disconnected the speedo cable for now. I'll just keep my HUD app on so I know how fast I'm going
12AM? - you don't have the bimmer mod bug do you?
Is that rain I see in San Diego? Well, I guess rain in the evening is acceptable![]()

Sort of gave my ZHP to my wife, which enabled me to buy an e39 M5. I won, twice.
yup... well only this week would I be doing that. Big SoCal Euro Gathering is Saturday so I'm trying to get as many things done before then so I can take the E21 and 2002 down. I was gonna take the ZHP but I'll leave her in the garage
This is right now. My opti-seal & xxx paste wax didn't do so well so I went back to my roots
Klasse AIO laid on by my porter cable followed up by some mothers carnauba cleaner wax also put on by my porter cable. This mothers wax lasts a long time and perfectly finishes any fine swirl marks. Last nice day of the year in NEPA! Taking advantage.
photoshoot day
consider this an official "teaser"
