E46 got coded for 1-touch unlock and Comfort Access, but bad news for the 2002. Carl himself actually looked at the car today and noticed it has a 1600 head, but it gets worse... I showed him a picture of the piston top from when we changed the HG, it has some weird Euro low compression pistons. Looks like I'm either gonna look for an E12 head and some pistons/rods/crank or a new engine entirely.

Spectacular!Installing new BMW OEM c/f Diffuser, purchased from Stuart. Sold my non-OEM one to Charlie. New 1 in the process of being put on the car, old one one the ground. Very little difference, owing that to the quality of my non-OEM one. EDIT: while they look different colors in the pic, that's just due to lighting, they are the same.

It's glued and clipped on to the knob. I just pulled the boot away from that soft nylon ring and then took a small side cutters to the ring. I cut the 2 clips off but left the single one opposite from the wires. It seems to work to help hold the boot up tighter to the knob.
It was a little nerve wracking cutting the ring around the wires with the side cutter. It was even molded in between the 2 wires but it really wasn't too tough to do.
