I spent some time this morning tearing out the pass. rear shock to examine the mount. I've been getting a clunk over bumps and was worried my new mount was bad. Luckily the mount is fine, the shock it toast. There goes my first pay check from the new job.

I'm probably gonna order some new OE Sachs to replace both struts in the rear. Any benefit to going with the Bilsteins over Sachs? Both can be had for about $100 a piece through FCPeuro, just looking for some input. Thanks guys

I would personally recommend the bilstein sport since they have lifetime warranty even if you lower it.

This. The Bilsteins are an extremely durable product. They are designed for lowered suspensions as well. The lifetime warranty is a big plus.

Just get Bilstein Sports for all 4 corners. They can be used with lowering springs or stock ride height. They will stiffen the ride a little bit, but they are a very nice shock absorber IMO.

Or you could get Billy HD's if you don't want to lower your car. You can lower your car with HD's or Sport's, but Sports are meant for lowered cars whereas HD's are meant for stock ride height cars.

Lifetime warranty? I take it that's a manufacturer warranty right? FCP says they come with a 1 year warranty.

I finished up all suspension on the E21 yesterday, and today I got new CCV and DISA under extended warranty (with a big help from Carl persuading them to pay for it).

Also, paid my registration for MFest today. Anybody else going to be in Vegas that weekend?

Yes, through Bilstein. Looking at that link, I wouldn't buy that particular one though if it only says 1 year manufacturer warranty. The lifetime I mentioned applies to the Bilstein Sport. I don't know about the rest of their products.
