    Also, for me, just talked to the guy who painted my car. He made some mistakes on the hood, and has agreed to repaint it ASAP. For free. Nice guy.

    So replaced one bulb in the rear of the instrument cluster tonight and got everything back. But my dead pixels problem is now worse than before. Think I'm going to try the pleading with BMW NA customer service routine first and see if I can get a break on the cost of the part. If that doesn't work, then shipping it off to VDOrepair.com.
