So replaced one bulb in the rear of the instrument cluster tonight and got everything back. But my dead pixels problem is now worse than before. Think I'm going to try the pleading with BMW NA customer service routine first and see if I can get a break on the cost of the part. If that doesn't work, then shipping it off to VDOrepair.com.

BMW USA customer service FTW! They called today and will cover the $550 instrument panel cluster for free, I need to cover the labor to install, I should have this fixed for under 2 C notes. Appt scheduled for next week so will be ready for Bimmerfest East.

Safelite came to fix the moulding popping up on my windshield. They said the factory uses an adhesive to keep it down, and mine just didn't have it. He fixed it, and I noticed the adhesive he used is a weird goopy kind of stuff that doesn't seem to harm paint. It's really odd. Never seen anything like it before. I saw some adhesive slightly sticking out (of course), so I used one of my non-marring pry tools to get rid of the excess. It came off really easily, yet was really sticky.

I'd like to know what it was, because it can come in handy in a lot of areas. He did mention it was made by 3M.

I got everything from my local dealership. The bottles are wheel cleaner for both cars. I was planning to change out the BMW license plate bracket on the ///M for the ///M license plate bracket.
