What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

So a took a little break from work and thought I'd take a picture of the clear side markers. Well wouldn't you know it, when I took one off, the clip fell down inside the panel. I fished with a magnetic tool to no avail and decided to try and get to it from the wheel well. I still haven't found the clip but did find about 1.5 cups of solid packed frozen dirt.

Did you check the other side? - 2lbs. of dirt = + 1HP

Got the wheels on, so after finals next week, there will be a set of authentic, staggered style 135's on the market.
ModBargains said I'd need to roll fenders, my guys who did the job said it's alright. Just not to carry lots of passengers (it's a coupe anyway).
But even after careful driving....it looks like the rears must be rolled for sure.

Wheel stud kit with neochrome Muteki lug nuts also went on that same day.

Glad you got them on and didn't need a roll. Maybe you can get that done next time you are around the rolling tool. Pics?

Today I bought the grandfather - Holy Grail BMW to keep my ZHP and my 1M company...

In the fall of 1987 I test drove a brand new White with Black interior BMW e30 M3. I brought it home to show my wife who at the time was pregnant with our first child. We had moved into our first home 3 months prior to this test drive and I was the only bread winner at the time. Long story shortened I knew at the time there was no way I could afford this beautiful $36,000 M3.

Today I dug into my Bucket and pulled out my list and put a great big check mark next to purchasing a 100% original 70,412 mile second owner 1988 White with Cardinal Red interior. The car is in New Hampshire which is 2500 miles or so from me. It has sat in a BMW Dinan specialty shop's show room for the last 5 years. The shop owner has offered to leave the car where it sits until spring and then fully service the car before we arrive, no charge to me. My wife and I will fly out and do a road trip of the parts of east coast that neither of us has seen then head home.

Great day for me, I had to share this.
