Drove my car in the freezing cold again today. I opted to let it sit all day yesterday when the wind chill brought the temp down to a toasty -26* F. Just replaced the rod bearings a few days ago so I'm still taking it easy on it. 1200mi of easy driving has never been so hard...

Nice. I'm sure that was tough for such a long distance.

Had my brother take her out for a drive. She hasn't been driven for close to two weeks. He said he worked her out pretty good so she'll be all ready for when I get back in the country and back home tomorrow!

What were your symptoms that your bearings were gone?

I had an oil analysis done in october that didn't look too good. Otherwise there were no outward signs, no ticks or odd noises. The car ran as it should.

I borrowed it from Terraphantm actually. It's the one made by Pittsburgh, you can buy it from your local Harbor Freight for about $65 IIRC. I was originally gonna buy one but I don't see myself using it again anytime soon. I did motor mounts while I was in there so I should be good for a while.

EDIT: Looks to be $79.99 now... http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb...bar-96524.html

Been scheming a way to get my wife on board... Trying to justify some sort of 18's with DWS AS tires instead of the crap ass Conti SSR's on it.

Either that or putting blizzaks on these 16s and forcing her to need new tires/rims in the spring.

Wow, hard to believe that (could be) the same car! What's it take besides the wheels and calipers. Front fascia?
