pretty sure its a open diff.. Wasn't the LSD only for 750's?

735iL, (2nd one my family has owned). I actually learned to drive on my family's old 735 so this car meant something to me.

I was getting 20.6 mpg out of the big tank when I brought her home, not bad for 230K! I think i'll do plugs, air filter, and fuel filter when I get the driveline issue sorted. Drive it for a bit then I'll sell in a few months.

I use GS Tuning in Santa Rosa. I recently had them do my VCG and they put the blue sealant there, too. I had a BMW mechanic do some other work on my car and he saw the blue stuff and said "oh well it looks like they at least knew what they were doing."

Seems normal to me at this point.

I believe you can trim some of the excess off.

Its more smear spots. nothing is showing where the actual gasket is.. I will get some paper towels and warm water and see if it wipes off.

I found a guy who owns a BMW/Porsche shop here in SF, and him and his wife seem to know their stuff. I got an oil change (he uses something called "total" oil, which is approved for our cars), had my VCG changed ("we don't touch VR gaskets! We put Elring in yours"), and he fixed my e-brake not holding on my hill (house is on a 30 degree incline. Now it holds!). The BMW dealer had 2 chances with this brake thing and they couldn't get it right. One odd thing is he put my tire pressure for 39p front and 46p rear. Seems a bit high. I will lower it back to whats on the door jam this weekend.

Its always nerve-wracking starting a relationship with a new shop. I feel a lot better now as it seems these guys really know what they're talking about.

Did you seriously just say "niggle"?? What the hell is that word anyway?? And your nerves would be much more at ease if you'd get your hands dirty and DIY a bit.

You haven't seen where I have moved to, Jon. My street has a 30 degree incline now. No jacking up. Also don't have a garage. So no taking parts of the engine apart. I have done plenty to the car myself this year, I just haven't posted about it.

They are supposed to put some on the half moons and just at the top edge of those half moons. Completely normal. If you are that "anal" (not saying that in a bad way), then you could take a razor blade and carefully cut the excess off.

39 front and 46 rear are the tire pressures on the door jamb. It is what's specified for the stock tire sizes (225-40R18 front and 255-35R18 rear)

I bought 6 spark plugs for my e90. Found a good deal in O'Reilly Auto Parts: $6.29 + tax for each. I paid $41 OTD. Their price is better than all the places I looked online.

Only negative was: they were not in stock, so I waited one day

Thanks. Strange. For some reason I had 32/38. I though the 39 and 46 were for max load. Like, don't go over that psi.
